Unusual family time

As some of you know- this week was not a regular week for us here at the Hanson house! Monday morning saw us in the ER for Jake, who was experiencing classic heart attack symptoms out of the blue- I know, it was a big surprise that a fit 30 year old would be having these symptoms. We thought of all kinds of other things it could be- gallbladder, heart burn, etc- and finally decided that we needed to take him in right away to get checked out.  His pain was in his upper left chest and into his left arm, sometimes during work, sometimes during rest. When stressed (specifically one time his wife stressed him out), he turned white as a sheet (well, really more of that horribly sickly white) and nauseous.

After spending half of the day at the ER, we heard from the doctor that it most definitely was not a heart attack, but he wanted Jake to see another doctor to find out what it was. He said it could be his heart, his lungs, the muscles in his chest, esophagus, ribs, etc. No telling without more tests, which of course the ER is not going to do, since it wasn't pressing. He referred Jake to a cardiologist at the hospital we were at- the one closest one to us. We don't have insurance, we told him, where else can we go?

The next day, Jake was off to the county hospital to enroll in their 'program.' Once enrolled, he was informed that they could not take the referral from the other hospital, that he would have to see the PCP there and then be referred to one of their specialists. Ok, fine. But it takes 2-3 months (or weeks? not clear on this...) to get an appointment with their PCP! We are going to make the appointment there and wait it out, but we would appreciate your prayers that this constant pain would be healed! 

We have done a lot of internet diagnosis research and found several conditions that mimic heart attack pain, and some them heal themselves within 12 weeks.  We are praising the Lord that this does not seem to be a life-threatening problem and for the prayers of those around us for our peace about it. We will let you know if anything changes!
